Why It Matters: Help When It’s Needed Most

At its core, the Delaware REALTORS® Care Foundation is about helping people through life’s toughest moments. It serves Delaware REALTOR® members and our communities by offering assistance when disasters, illness, and other unexpected hardships create an immediate need for support.
The Care Foundation exists to provide a source of relief when circumstances become overwhelming. In times of crisis, even basic needs can quickly become difficult to manage. The Foundation helps bridge that gap by providing emergency assistance that can bring stability, comfort, and hope when it is needed most.
For Delaware REALTOR® members, that support can be especially meaningful. A sudden illness, major property damage, or another serious life event can create immediate financial strain and uncertainty. The Foundation is designed to respond to those moments of hardship with compassion and practical support, helping individuals and families begin to move forward.
The Foundation’s impact can also extend beyond individual assistance. Through community support efforts, it can help strengthen the organizations and relief work that serve Delawareans during challenging times. This broader mission reflects the belief that caring for communities means showing up not only in good times, but also when people are facing some of life’s greatest difficulties.
Guiding this important work is the Care Foundation’s Board of Directors: Scott Farnan, Chair; Sandi Unkrur, Chair-elect; Bonnie Roberts-Burke, Treasurer; Matt Lafferty, Executive Director; and Directors Audrey Serio, Deborah Harris, Denise Forman-Gaines, Josette Castiglione, Kimberly Morehart, and Rosalia Martinez. Their leadership helps ensure the Foundation remains focused on its mission of compassion, service, and meaningful impact.
