Joe's community focus is on the American Heart Association. He co-founded the annual "Affair of the Heart" event that has raised over $1.5 million since 1986. Joe not only gives financially, but spends hundreds of hours organizing volunteers, coordinating time and space for volunteer use…well, you get the picture.

In additional to the annual gala, Joe contributes time and resources to the Annual Heart Walk and Go Red For Women Initiative. The American Heart Association is not the only benefactor of Joe's time. He also contributes to the Boys & Girls Club, the Fraternal Order of Police, Central DE Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross, Biggs Museum, and numerous others.
