2013 Convention Education Schedule & Course Descriptions

Following are the courses and times available at the 2013 DAR Convention.  When choosing your course, please pick one course from the morning, afternoon and/or evening tracks. It is advised that for the morning and afternoon track, you do not pick courses that end and start at the same time. There will be no allowances for late arrivals and no credit will be given to late arrivals.

Course Descriptions
 

Module 1 – Agency/Fair Housing - (Shirley Kalvinsky)

Representing sellers and buyers, CIS and Delaware Code made easy to understand with practical situations. A module 1 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.

 

 

Module 2 – Professional Standards (Approved for NAR Ethics) - (Bruce Plummer & Gene Millman)

Professional standard topics of procuring cause, arbitration and mediation, and more.  This course satisfies the NAR Quadrennial Ethics requirement.  A module 2 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.. 

 

 

Module 3 – Understanding the Agreement of Sale (Real Estate Documents) - (Bill Ward)

An intensive look at the Agreement of Sale from one of Delaware’s most experienced real estate attorneys. A module 3 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.

 

 

Module 4 – Office Management - (Gene Millman & Bruce Plummer)

A look at topic important for running a real estate business – informative for both brokers and salespersons.  A module 4 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.  

 

 

Module 5 – Legislative Issues - (Andy Taylor & Bill Lucks)

Discussion of issues related to legislation.  A module 5 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.

 

 

Module 6 – BPO (Practices of Real Estate) – (Phil McGinnis)

This is a valuation course intended to provide the participant with the necessary tools to accurately and legally prepare a CMA. All three approaches to value are analyzed in a case study. Risk mitigation, valuation techniques, and reporting requirements and suggestions will be presented.  A module 6 course is a mandatory requirement for licensing period ending April 30, 2014.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.

 

 

Module 7 - Successfully Navigating the Transactional Mine Field of Today's Real Estate Market (Elective) Chris Rowe.

A great look at what is trending in the mortgage industry and the best ways to get the mortgage for buyers to facilitate transactions.  A total of 21 credit hours are now required for license renewal.  

 

 

New License Module 1 – Ruth Vella

An introduction to professional standards for the newly licensed agent.  This course is a DREC requirement for agents who have recently obtained their real estate license from the State of Delaware.

 

 

New Licensed Module 2 – Ruth Vella

An introduction to the agreement of sale and CIS for the newly licensed agent.  This course is a DREC requirement for agents who have recently obtained their real estate license from the State of Delaware.
